Public Interest Disclosure (PID)

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) Public Interest Disclosure Policy, which Lord Howe Island Board (LHIB) has adopted, outlines how reports of serious wrongdoing are managed and how we meet our obligations under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2022 (PID Act).

Section 81 Agreement

LHIB has an agreement with DCCEEW, under which DCCEEW exercises all PID functions in accordance with section 81 of the PID Act. This arrangement took effect on 14 July 2025.

Report serious wrongdoing

The LHIB has zero tolerance for breaches of integrity, including fraud and corruption.

Disclosure officer

You may also report wrongdoing or request the contact details of an LHIB disclosure officer by emailing [email protected].

LHIB Disclosure Officers include:

  • CEO
  • Chairperson, LHIB
  • Manager Administration

Any person may assist the LHIB in preventing or addressing unethical practices by reporting serious wrongdoing, such as fraudulent or corrupt behaviour. Members of the public, including third-party contractors or other stakeholders, may raise actual or suspected wrongdoing. Public servants, including LHIB staff, are provided an internal system to report wrongdoing; however, they may also access the public-facing information if they choose.
