Public Web Map
The Lord Howe Island Board has published a new online map to support access to planning and environmental information.
About the map
The online map provides a central point of access to key public spatial information used by the Board. It is designed to assist the community, particularly when preparing development applications.
The map includes:
- Lot boundaries
- Layers from the 2010 Local Environment Plan (LEP), including zoning, Significant Native Vegetation and Heritage Items
- Layers relevant to wastewater planning, including wells and watercourses
- An updated basemap using 2023 aerial imagery
- Other relevant spatial layers used in Board decision-making
The map also includes tools and guides to help users interact with the data. These include measuring and drawing tools, exporting printable maps, and downloading datasets. Exported datasets may be used by qualified planners and surveyors to support development applications.
Purpose
This resource supports transparency and improves access to information used by the Board in its statutory functions, including development assessment and environmental management.
This map is provided as an information tool only and is not guaranteed to be free from errors or omissions. It does not replace formal advice or statutory planning instruments. Users should independently verify all information, including through appropriately qualified surveyors or planners.
