Community Consultation Group

The Critical Infrastructure Program Board is committed to stakeholder and community consultation as important infrastructure upgrades are delivered for Lord Howe Island. Transparent communication, consultation and governance groups support the effective management of the Program and its projects.

Ongoing engagement with residents and businesses on Lord Howe Island will continue as detailed designs and construction planning progresses in early to mid 2026.

Community Consultation Group

The Community Consultation Group (CCG) was established in 2024 following nominations received from Lord Howe Island residents. The CCG provides a forum for consultation with local community members and business owners who can offer local knowledge, perspective and advice on matters affecting the Program.

CCG meetings are held bi-monthly or as required. Additional meetings may be convened on an ad hoc basis by the Chair. Elected Board members may also attend meetings.

Purpose of the Community Consultation Group

  • Enable the exchange of information between the community and the Program and project team.
  • Provide a mechanism for gathering local knowledge and input into the planning and delivery of the Program.
  • Assist the Program team to identify local issues and consider appropriate options and future strategies.
  • Receive briefings on Program status and works being undertaken.
  • Receive briefings on engagement activities.
  • Enhance CCG member understanding of the Program through briefings from consultants and technical specialists.
