Open access information
The Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act) requires us to make certain information publicly available. This information is called 'open access information' or 'mandatory release information'.
The Lord Howe Island Board's open access information includes the following:
- An Agency information guide
- Information about the LHIB contained in any document tabled in Parliament by or on behalf of the LHIB (other than any document tabled by order of either House of Parliament)
- Policy documents
- A register of government contracts
A disclosure log is a record containing details of government information already released under the GIPA Act. A disclosure log is part of the open access information that is required to be made publicly available.
Disclosure logs provide access to information for people who want the same or similar information as previous applicants, and would otherwise have to make formal access applications.
The disclosure log does not contain information on applications for personal information regarding the applicant.
Access to LHIB's information is handled by the Department of Planning and Environment's (DPE's) Information Access and Privacy Unit. Some of the LHIB's open access information is included on DPE's website including:
- A disclosure log of access applications
Making an access application
