Beach access information session

13 Dec 2023

Community members are invited to a beach access information session at 11am on Wednesday, 13 December at the dozer track on the foreshore (beach access track opposite the school).

The informal session will display the beach access mat and all-terrain wheelchair and walker for hire through the LHIB. There will be opportunity to test the equipment and discuss the beach access mat's benefits.

The all-terrain wheelchair and walker are designed for easier navigation through challenging outdoor landscapes, empowering individuals with mobility limitations to embrace our natural environment. It's essential to note that the wheelchair requires an able-bodied operator and is to be used on terrains suitable for its navigation.

As a weather-resistant portable pathway, the beach access mat offers a stable route for those with mobility challenges, strollers, or walkers to access the beach. It's movable, ensuring flexibility in its placement to cater to various needs.

We're striving to optimise functionality while considering environmental factors and community input. This equipment aims to improve beach access, especially for those facing mobility challenges and our senior community members.
