Mark the date in your calendar - Lord Howe Island's first Open Day!
Open Day will take place on Wednesday, 4 October from 10am-12pm at the Community Hall.
The event will bring together residents, incoming hospitality staff, and visitors to learn about the role of the Island’s various organisations and its unique environment and culture.
The Lord Howe Island Board is a statutory authority established under the provisions of the Lord Howe Island Act 1953. The Board is responsible to the NSW Minister for the Environment and comprises four Islanders elected by the local community and three members appointed by the Minister.
Lord Howe Island's unique qualities received worldwide recognition when it was included in the World Heritage list in December 1982. The Island's Permanent Park Preserve supports its rich biodiversity of endemic and significant species and communities.
