Severe weather warning
The Bureau of Meteorology advises a complex low-pressure system near the NSW coast is likely to bring notably windy conditions and elevated seas for the coming days. Strong to gale force winds and large and powerful waves are forecast to develop from this evening.
Damaging west to northwesterly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h and gusts reaching 90 km/h are possible at Lord Howe Island from this evening until Thursday morning.
The NSW State Emergency Services (SES) advise you to:
- Trim trees and branches that could potentially fall on your home or property.
- Park your car under secure cover and away from trees, powerlines and drains.
- Secure or put away items, such as outdoor furniture, trampolines and roofing iron that could blow around in strong winds.
- Prepare an emergency kit in case you lose power or need to leave your home.
