Important Biosecurity notice – investigation of possible mouse activity (Ship B178)
LHIB has been notified of potential mouse sign found in a consignment of general goods from the most recent ship delivery (B178).
This is an early-stage investigation only. No live pest or confirmed incursion has been detected.
To assist with our investigation, we are asking all residents and businesses who received goods on this shipment to carefully inspect their deliveries for any signs of mouse activity.
What to look for:
- Mouse droppings (small, dark, pellet-shaped)
- Chewed packaging or food items
- Nesting material (shredded paper, fabric, insulation)
- Strong musky odour
- Actual sightings of live or dead mice
