Have Your Say: Draft LHIB Delivery Plan and Service Delivery Commitments

The draft Lord Howe Island Board (LHIB) Delivery Plan and Service Delivery Commitments are now on public exhibition for a period of 28 days, closing on Thursday 19 June 2025.

These documents are available to view online and in person at the LHIB Office during business hours:

Draft - LHIB Delivery Plan

Draft - LHIB Service Delivery Commitments - SDC

What are these documents?

The Delivery Plan is a four-year strategic plan for LHIB. It takes the objectives from the Community Strategic Plan and outlines the actions LHIB will deliver over four years.

The Service Delivery Commitments outline the core services provided each year. Each service includes performance indicators used to measure progress.

Why have they been created?

LHIB is adopting a new planning and reporting framework, in line with other councils in NSW. This framework includes a reporting structure to communicate progress to both LHIB Board Members and the Lord Howe Island community.

The framework begins with the community’s long-term aspirations, captured in the Community Strategic Plan (CSP), which was publicly exhibited in June 2024 and adopted in August 2024.

The Delivery Plan and Service Delivery Commitments are part of this framework, setting out the strategic actions to achieve the CSP vision.

Why does the Community Strategic Plan (CSP) look different?

The Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Plan and Service Delivery Commitments are all part of an integrated set of documents. The CSP has been redesigned to match the look of the new documents, but the content remains unchanged.

Why are these new documents important?

Together, these documents guide long-term decision-making and planning for the Lord Howe Island Board. They provide clear objectives aligned with the priorities of the Lord Howe Island community and the responsibilities of LHIB.

Next steps

When the public exhibition period ends, all feedback received will be considered and, where appropriate, incorporated into the final versions of the documents.
