Householder - Foreshore Cleanup final update and next steps
The Lord Howe Island Board thanks the community for its continued cooperation with the foreshore cleanup project. This work has now progressed to its final stages.
- The majority of the cleanup is now complete.
- A number of unclaimed items are currently held in secure storage.
- The timeframe to reclaim these items without charge has been extended until the end of November.
If you believe an item in storage may belong to you, please contact the LHIB Administration Office to arrange collection during business hours.
Note: The Board is not returning items to the foreshore or private residences.
From 1 December 2025, any items still unclaimed may be disposed of or sold in accordance with the Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021.
A reminder that small watercraft and trailers under 6 metres must not be stored at the boat ramp for longer than 48 hours. Items stored outside this timeframe may be directed for removal under the Lord Howe Island Regulation 2014 (Part 10, Clause 93).
Thank you again for your support and cooperation throughout this process.
