The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Lord Howe Island Critical Infrastructure Project is on public exhibition for community comment from Wednesday 15 October until Tuesday 11 November 2025.

Print copies of the EIS, Executive Summary and appended Technical Reports are available at the Lord Howe Island Museum and Lord Howe Island Board Offices.

Community drop-in sessions

A reminder that the community drop-in sessions will be held next week at the Lord Howe Island Community Hall.
Two Sessions will be held on Thursday 6 November as follows: 
• 10am to 12:30pm
• 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
Key personnel from The APP Group and the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) will be in attendance. This will provide an opportunity for community members to ask questions and have discussions about key components of the EIS.
Assistance on the day will be provided in showing community members on how to make a submission via the NSW Planning Portal.
Anyone is welcome to attend the community drop-in sessions

Further Assistance Available with the NSW Planning Portal

Feedback on the on the EIS must be submitted via the portal to be considered by the assessment team. The Lord Howe Island Board is offering support for community members who would like assistance registering and using the portal to submit their feedback ahead of the community drop-in session.
Assistance will be available at the LHIB Offices during the following times:

  • Wednesday 29 October: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Thursday 30 October: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
  • Friday 31 October: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
