Applications open for Field Officers

The Lord Howe Island Board is seeking Field Officers to join various departments within the organisation. These roles are vital to maintaining the island’s unique environment and infrastructure, contributing to conservation efforts, and ensuring the continued provision of essential services to both the local community and visitors.

Field Officers are involved in a diverse range of responsibilities, including waste and water management, construction, maintenance, and improvements to island facilities and grounds. This work covers areas such as the aerodrome, buildings, roads, public areas, fences, and walking tracks and the Permanent Park Preserve, ensuring these spaces remain accessible, safe, and of high quality.

Additionally, the Field Officers support environmental conservation through pest and weed management, wildlife surveys, as well as the revegetation and rehabilitation of degraded areas, helping to preserve the island’s natural and cultural heritage.
