Applications open for Bush Regenerator

The Lord Howe Island Board has an opportunity for Bush Regenerator to join a small close-knit team. In this role you will work towards maintaining World Heritage and Permanent Park Preserve values and aid the conservation of native flora and fauna.

With guidance from the Team Leader and Field Supervisor, you will work in accordance with a defined plan, strategy and policies which support restoration outcomes. This role is physically demanding and requires work outdoors in diverse weather conditions and terrain, including dense vegetation and at elevation.

About you

You are physically capable, safety-conscious and attentive to detail. You’re comfortable working outdoors in rugged conditions, including steep terrain, dense vegetation and variable weather. You can contribute to a small team undertaking methodical, often repetitive tasks with care and persistence. You follow instructions, work in line with WHS procedures and risk management practices, and are committed to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others. Most importantly, you take pride in supporting the long-term health of Lord Howe Island’s environment and community.

Essential requirements

This is a physically demanding role that involves:

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling loads
  • Bending, climbing, and sustained walking
  • Working in rugged and uneven terrain in a range of weather conditions

You may be required to undertake a health assessment as part of the recruitment process.
