EOI - Community Advisory Committee - Permanent Park Preserve

The Lord Howe Island Board (LHIB) is seeking Expressions of Interest from members of the community to join the existing Community Advisory Committee for the LHI Permanent Park Preserve (PPP).

The Committee seeks to improve community involvement and advice on management issues in the PPP, and in particular, the review of the PPP Plan of Management.

The Committee membership will reflect the broad range of community interests and perspectives, and comprise a diversity of age, gender and background Ideally the Committee should consist of at least eight members with experience, expertise and an interest in areas such as:

  • Conservation biology;
  • Wildlife management or related disciplines;
  • Remote area issues;
  • Ecotourism or ecologically sustainable visitor use;
  • Environmental education;
  • Cultural heritage conservation.

The Committee will work closely with the LHI Biodiversity Management Plan Implementation Group & LHIB staff.
