LHIB has a full-time opportunity for a Senior Manager Infrastructure and Engineering Services to provide leadership, management and direction for the development and implementation of projects and oversight of operational programs to provide safe, efficient, and effective services and infrastructure.

The role provides strategic advice and support to the Chief Executive Officer and the Lord Howe Island Board to ensure the Board fulfils its responsibilities under the Lord Howe Island Act and other legislation.

As the Senior Manager of Infrastructure and Engineering Services for LHIB, you lead operational programs with adaptability and innovation. Your ability to think creatively enables you to tackle the unique challenges posed by a remote setting.

With a strong background in people management, you guide teams to deliver results, even in challenging circumstances. Your strategic approach to decision-making provides essential support to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements while fostering sustainable growth and development.

Your decisions directly impact the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of services and infrastructure on Lord Howe Island. You are committed to innovation, strong leadership, and forward-thinking.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, asset management or a related relevant discipline.
  • Meet medical and ASIC security clearances.
  • Meet the requirements of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998 responsibilities of an accountable manager for a certified aerodrome 139.110(5).

The position is located on Lord Howe Island. Assistance to staff who must relocate to the Island to take up an appointment is available in accordance with the Crown Employees (Lord Howe Island Board Salaries and Conditions 2009) Award, including staff accommodation.
