The Lord Howe Island Board has replaced a 160 metre section of boardwalk and a small creek bridge on the Transit Hill Walking Track.

Track assessments in November 2024 and January 2026 found the boardwalk was in poor condition and needed replacing as a very high priority.

The new structures follow a similar route to the old ones. No vegetation was cleared; excavation was done by hand.

Native plants have been added around the site.
