Control Order African-big Headed Ants

A Control Order has been gazetted pursuant to s27 of the Animal Diseases and Animal Pests (Emergency Outbreaks) Act 1991 (ADAPEO Act) for the purpose of controlling, eradicating or preventing the spread of the African Big-headed Ants on Lord Howe Island (LHI). A copy of the control order and certification can be obtained from the NSW Government Gazette (see pages 5125 to 5128 of Government Gazette no 151 of 8 November 2013).

The Control Order gives authorised persons/inspectors authority to take measures specified in the Schedule within the Control Area for the purpose of controlling, eradicating or preventing the spread of the ABhA.
