Review of the LHIB Mooring Management Policy

The Lord Howe Island Board (LHIB) is currently undertaking a review of its Mooring Management Policy. The LHIB developed this policy to guide the management of moorings in the LHI lagoon, in accordance with the provisions of the Lord Howe Island (LHI) Act 1953 and the LHI Regulation 2014. The Policy is subject to a clear, equitable and consistent approval process.

The current Mooring Management Policy was adopted in 2011. Changes to the Policy were required to reflect the revised LHI Regulation 2014, to provide clear guidelines to the use, location and condition of Load Lines within the LHI Lagoon and to provide clear guidelines to the commercial use of Public Day Use Moorings.

The revised Draft Mooring Policy will be placed on public exhibition for a period of 42 days due to the Christmas/New Year break, from Friday 4 December – Friday 15 January 2015. Copies of the policy will be on display at the Board's Administration Office during normal business
