The Lord Howe Island Board with the support of a sub-committee has developed a Draft Management Plan for the Lord Howe Island Lagoon Foreshore to replace the existing LHIB Lagoon Foreshore Activities and Management Policy.
The draft plan sets the overall framework for the ongoing use and management of the lagoon foreshore over the next ten years. The plan recognises the important scenic, conservation, tourism and recreation values of the lagoon foreshore and aims to strike a balance to achieve the protection of each of these values. It outlines the main issues, management directions and priorities of the Board for managing the foreshore consistent with the values of the area and the resources available.
The draft plan is currently on public exhibition. Copies of the draft plan can be obtained from the LHIB Administration Office or can be downloaded below.
The Board would like to invite members of the public to comment in writing on the Draft Lagoon Foreshore Management Plan. Comments will be received until 4pm on Monday 9 November 2015.
