Employment

The Board has approximately 50 staff with the Chief Executive Officer responsible for the overall day-to-day management and administration.

In accordance with the Lord Howe Island Act 1953 the Lord Howe Island Board cannot employ staff. Staff may be employed by the Director General of the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) under Chapter 1A of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002 in the Government Service to enable the Board to exercise its functions.
